Digital Photography & Imaging- WEEK 14

Image
LECTURES: Starting from week 12 , there will no longer be formal lectures. Instead, we’ll focus on our individual projects . Final Project : Digital Imaging This week, I mainly focused on icon design. At first, I felt a bit lost and wasn't sure how to get started. First, I looked for the icons provided by Honor, such as the computer icon, to use as references. Then, I started thinking about the color scheme. I decided to base the icon colors on my wallpaper, using shades from the same color family—one darker and one lighter—to create a consistent look. Process 1 Process 2 When I checked the submission requirements on Honor's official design competition page, I wasn’t sure whether I needed to design for both screens or just one. So, I decided to focus only on the normal screen icon design. Final Outcome: REFLECTIVE: To be honest, I personally found this final project to be extremely interesting and rewarding. What mattered most to me wasn’t just the final outcome, but the va...

Write a biography about yourself   INTRO My name is Kaiwei, I'm 21 years old, born and raised in Selangor. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Patisserie Art, and this is my minor project. To be honest, this project has been a huge challenge for me. As someone who’s completely clueless about drawing, it felt like my brain was constantly overloaded. I had never used any professional drawing or design software before, and at the beginning, I couldn’t even figure out how to open layers or add brus...

Digital Photography & Imaging- WEEK 13

Image
LECTURES: Starting from week 12, there will no longer be formal lectures. Instead, we’ll focus on our individual projects . Final Project : Digital Imaging This week, I focused on creating the final combination. I first downloaded the official template provided by Honor, then combined it with the video I had previously created. After everything was in place, I exported the final version. Figure 1: Progress 1 Final Outcome: Reflection:  Overall, this project was a very valuable experience for me. Throughout the process, I improved my Photoshop skills and learned how to organize my workflow better—from designing posters in different sizes, to creating animations, and finally combining and exporting the final video. Although I faced some challenges, such as adjusting layouts for different sizes and fixing animation details again and again, these problems helped me learn even more.

LECTURES: Starting this week, there will no longer be formal lectures. Instead, we’ll focus on our individual projects and actively seek feedback from Mr. Asrizal to improve and refine our work. Final Project: Digital Imaging( Animation) Progression: Following last week's progress, where I focused on the square poster animation design, this week I shifted my attention to working on the vertical poster animation design. Actually, it's the same content as before—only the size is different. I made some slight adjustments to fit the vertical format better. Digital Photography & Imaging- WEEK 11

LECTURES: This week, Mr. Fauzi introduced us to After Effects. It is a 2.5D software used for animation and visual effects in videos. We can combine images, videos, and graphics using layers and keyframes. Before using it, we need to organize all the layers in Photoshop or Illustrator, as After Effects links to the files instead of embedding them. FINAL PROJECT : DIGITAL IMAGING Task Assigned: Mr. Fauzi informed us that we will begin our final project, which is related to digital imaging. He told us we can use either Photoshop or After Effects to complete it. This project is a continuation of the previous one — the final part of the Honor competition — which focuses on animation. Progression: Since I had already completed my animation earlier, I still submitted it to Mr. Asrizal for review. He mentioned that my animation was a bit simple and suggested that I could improve it. So, I decided to focus on refining and adding effects to enhance it further Mr. Asrizal suggested that we ...

Animation Fundamentals/ Final Project

23/06/25 -  21/ 7 /25 ( Week 10 - Week 14) Kek Kai Wei, 0363513 Animation Fundamentals / Bachelor of Patisserie Arts ( Hons) Final Project: Action Animation Instruction :  LECTURES:  Week 10 - Secondary Action & Exaggeration Planning Stage: Before starting animation, it's important to ask “What to animate?” — this begins with an idea, whether it’s an action, dialogue, or expression. The animator should read the script, understand the character’s personality, and develop visual plans using storyboards and animatics to map out poses and timing. This stage also involves film studies and cinematography analysis to improve shot composition and storytelling through visual language. Animation Techniques and process: Animation is created using two main techniques: Pose to Pose , which focuses on planning key movements, and Straight Ahead , which allows for more flexibility. The animation workflow follows this order: Rough → Tie Down → Clean Up → Color and Shadow . Timing i...

Digital Photography & Imaging- Week 10

LECTURES Week 10 had no lecture. Mr. Fauzi instructed us to focus on our ongoing projects, complete them, and work on improvements. PROJECT 2B: Poster design and digital imaging Progression: Week 10 was mainly about learning how to animate using the Photoshop timeline. Mr. Fauzi gave us some video tutorials to follow. I went through them step by step, and even though it was my first time using the timeline, I slowly got the hang of it. This week really helped me understand how to work with frames, layers, and some basic animation ideas in Photoshop. Figure 1: animate in photoshop Mr. Fauzi mentioned that we don’t need to animate too much — just a small part is enough — since the main focus is still on digital photography and imaging. The main adjustments I made were: For the cloud in front, I set the pan to 90 and added a zoom-out effect. For the KLCC, I also applied a zoom-out. As for the city, I kept the pan at 0 without any movement. Figure 2 Figure 3: doing same step...
