Digital Photography & Imaging- Week 10

 LECTURES

  • Week 10 had no lecture. Mr. Fauzi instructed us to focus on our ongoing projects, complete them, and work on improvements.

PROJECT 2B: Poster design and digital imaging

Progression:
  • Week 10 was mainly about learning how to animate using the Photoshop timeline. Mr. Fauzi gave us some video tutorials to follow. I went through them step by step, and even though it was my first time using the timeline, I slowly got the hang of it. This week really helped me understand how to work with frames, layers, and some basic animation ideas in Photoshop.

Figure 1: animate in photoshop
  • Mr. Fauzi mentioned that we don’t need to animate too much — just a small part is enough — since the main focus is still on digital photography and imaging.

  • The main adjustments I made were:

    • For the cloud in front, I set the pan to 90 and added a zoom-out effect.

    • For the KLCC, I also applied a zoom-out.

    • As for the city, I kept the pan at 0 without any movement.

Figure 3: doing same step for lock screen
  • After finishing both animations, I combined the folded and normal screen versions together.

REFLECTION
  • This week, I learned how to animate using the Photoshop timeline. At first, I wasn’t too familiar with it, but after following Mr. Fauzi’s tutorial step by step, I started to get the hang of it. He mentioned that we only need to animate a small part, so I added a pan and zoom-out effect to the front cloud, zoomed out the KLCC, and kept the city background still. Even though the edits were simple, I learned how to control the timing and layers to add more depth and movement to the scene.
